entrepreneurship@UBC is excited to be hosting its 4th annual Entrepreneurial Immersion Week. This year’s discussions will focus on Climate and the Public Health Crisis: Systems Changes and Actions Needed. Hear from a wide range of speakers spanning government, industry and academia sharing thoughts on how we can work together to combat climate change that is threatening humanity and worsening existing health inequalities across communities and the globe.
This event unites the University of British Columbia with vibrant storytellers and movement builders, all in celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Todd Sayers, CICE’s Deputy Executive Director, will join a keynote panel on Tuesday, September 26th at 1:45pm in UBC Robson Square (C300) titled, “Building a World-Class Innovation Ecosystem to Solve the Climate and Human Health Crisis”.
This session will feature BC’s leading economic and industry builders discussing how we can accelerate BC’s role in building a world-class innovation ecosystem in Climate Solutions and Human Health. We will explore whether our innovation ecosystem is indeed poised for growth.
Other panelists include Suzanne Gill, President and CEO of Genome BC, and Leah Nguyen, the Chief Investment Officer of InBC Investment Corp.
Regional Ecosystem Showcase
EIW will also be launching a new event this year: a regional startup pitch. Transformative BC companies in climate, human health and social impact will be pitching to create awareness and connections for impactful companies across the province.
This showcase will be on Wednesday, September 27 from 5:00-7:00pm. This event will be offered in person at UBC Robson Square and online.
