Traditional soil lab analysis that underpins precision agriculture and trust in carbon markets is expensive, slow, and often incomplete. So it doesn’t happen very often. Or at scale.
The solution lies with Miraterra, a Vancouver-based company revolutionizing soil testing using novel proximal sensing technology that is unprecedentedly accurate, fast, and affordable. As Kim Haakstad, VP of Stakeholder Relations, explains, “Miraterra is helping farmers better understand what’s happening in their soil and be a part of the solution to climate change.”
With support from CICE, Miraterra is advancing sensor development and bringing Raman spectroscopy to market, scaling a solution to transform soil carbon measurement, reporting, and verification. The company announced the close of its Seed funding round led by At One Ventures in May 2024, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s mission to transform soil insight.
