Inviting B.C. innovators with game-changing solutions to submit applications for non-dilutive grant funding

To accelerate the world towards a net-zero carbon future we need to catalyze breakthrough innovations that have the potential to significantly reduce GHG emissions and address ‘hard to decarbonize’ challenges. The British Columbia Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) is doing just that.

Announcing our upcoming 2023 Open Call for Innovation – Applications accepted Jan 16 – Feb 10, 2023

Is your breakthrough technology accelerating the world towards a net-zero carbon future?

Then CICE would like to learn about your clean energy advancements. The British Columbia Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) is excited to announce our upcoming 2023 Open Call for Innovation, with expression of interest applications being accepted from January 16 until 5pm PT on Feb 10, 2023. This call is to help fast-track the development, commercialization and scaling of innovative, made-in-B.C. clean energy solutions by awarding up to $6 million in non-dilutive grants.

The CICE Open Call for Innovation presents an opportunity for B.C. innovators in the clean energy sector to advance their world-class solutions in any of these five focus areas:

  • Low carbon hydrogen
  • Renewable natural gas
  • Battery technology and energy storage
  • Carbon management
  • Bioenergy, biofuels and synthetic fuels

Through this call, CICE anticipates awarding up to $6 million to advance technologies and solutions that are at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) between 4-9. Funding will be allocated between multiple high impact projects chosen based on their potential to reduce global GHG emissions and scale globally for maximum impact.
