CICE Announces Upcoming Call for Innovation 

Inviting BC-based clean energy and climate technology innovators to explore early-stage investment opportunities with CICE

VANCOUVER, BC, December 14, 2023 – The BC Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) is pleased to announce its upcoming Call for Innovation, which will allocate up to a cumulative total of $10 million in non-dilutive investment in BC-based organizations. This call invites clean energy and climate technology innovators from across British Columbia to share groundbreaking solutions with high potential to advance the world towards a net-zero future.

Applications for CICE non-dilutive investment were accepted from January 24 at 9am PT to February 29, 2024 at 5pm PT. Companies selected for stage 2 advancement will be notified by March 27, 2024. For more information, download the 2024 CICE Call for Innovation Application Guide.

Its unique intelligence framework maximizes investment outcomes and advances credible, world-class solutions across the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4-9 range by driving high impact innovation responses to address industry’s ‘hard to decarbonize’ challenges.

With $21M invested in 20+ projects valued at over $118M, CICE is advancing the world towards a net zero future and supporting BC innovators that are the future job, diversity and green economy creators. The upcoming Call for Innovation will consider applications from BC-based organizations with high impact potential in the following CICE focus areas:

• Low carbon hydrogen
• Low carbon bio and synthetic fuels
• Carbon management
• Battery technology and energy storage
